Imprimis

Thank you all for being so patient. We are still in emergency mode here and are trying to deal with it.

However much I would prefer to let the world slide by while I “deal with it”, I would like need to make a few observations: After the first year, I believe that the only promises kept by our illustrious president (and there were 100’s) are: Taking the wife on a date in NYC and purchasing a dog for the kids. Secondly, there was a news flash today! The president is CLOSE to reaching a decision about supplying additional troops to our boys in Afghanistan! CLOSE TO??? AFTER FOUR MONTHS!!!??? AND…should he take the time to consider it further and finally MAKE up his mind to send troops, it will take an additional four months to implement the order. And all this time, more of our boys will be dying and “HE” will be scheduling an early morning photo op at Dover AFB to attend the funerals of said fallen soldiers. I find that disgusting!…Just saying…And now…please read the following while I take an antacid!

Please take time to travel to this site. It is very informative.

HILLSDALE COLLEGE

Training a New Generation of Americans to Defend Liberty

About Hillsdale College:

Hillsdale College is nationally known for its refusal to accept federal or state taxpayer support. We aim to raise up a new generation of leaders for America who share a passion for liberty, who believe in the free-enterprise system, and who want to restore the principles of limited government enshrined in the Constitution of the United States.

Hillsdale College is dedicated to training a new generation of leaders for America who understand the Constitution of the United States and who will uphold and defend liberty.

That’s why we are building the new Allan P. Kirby, Jr.
Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship in Washington, D.C. This new Center (located just blocks from the U.S. Capitol) will . . .

1. Enable Hillsdale students to serve as interns in the nation’s capital so they can see first hand how our republic works and prepare themselves for public service;

2. Provide classrooms for students who are serving as interns in congressional offices and conservative think tanks;

3. Provide offices for Hillsdale’s scholars when they travel to Washington to educate our leaders to have a greater appreciation for America’s Constitution and heritage of liberty and limited government;

4. Hold conferences and seminars for members of Congress
and their staff on the vital importance of the Constitution – the greatest charter of liberty ever created; and

5. Educate Americans nationwide
as to how our Constitution is responsible for creating the most free and most prosperous nation in history.

IN SUMMARY: The purpose of the new Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship is to restore the primacy of our Constitution in the governmental and political life of our nation.

Imprimis is Latin. It means “In the First Place.”
It’s about restoring “first principles” – the principles of liberty that made America the freest, most prosperous nation in human history.

Specifically, Imprimis is a digest
of the best speeches that are given at Hillsdale College events throughout the year by some of America’s (and the world’s) most influential conservative leaders, as well as commentary and analysis on national and international events.

Past speakers in this series (dating back to 1972)
have included such political, intellectual and business leaders as:
• Former President Ronald Reagan
• Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher
• Nobel Prize winning economist Milton Friedman
• Publisher Steve Forbes
• Pulitzer Prize winning columnist George Will
• FOX News commentators Fred Barnes and Brit Hume
• Free market economist Walter Williams
• Former Secretary of Education William Bennett
• Economist and author Thomas Sowell
• Florida Governor Jeb Bush
• Radio host and political commentator Rush Limbaugh
And there are just too many other great speakers to list.

Not everyone can be in attendance
to hear these landmark speeches by these great leaders. But you can read the best of them every month in Imprimis.

Until Next Time!

  1. Hi Judy!

    Still praying for you all.

    I’ll have to come back and read this more thoroughly, but let me be quick to say that Imprimis is one of my favorite reads every month. I’ve been getting it for several years now and it’s always insightful.

    Thanks for getting this out!

  2. Don’t know what your emergency situation is, but hope things get resolved soon.

    I don’t find President Obama disgusting, I did however find Bush playing dress up’s in uniform on board a carrier saying mission accomplished beyond offensive.

    Stopped in to say thanks for placing my advert, it’s appreciated. Hope you’ll swing by for a visit, the welcome mats always out.

  3. Oh Sandy…I wish I had the time/inclination to enlighten you…suffice it to say, at least your “disgust” didn’t include the dead bodies of fallen soldiers whom the “anointed one” has refused to help. Now THAT’S beyond offensive!
