Restful Spot…A new family discovered

Yesterday afternoon, I got a phone call from my 4-year-old grandson. He said, “Gramma, I got a new “restful spot”.” I was interested in where it might be because he has quite a few “restful spots” that he’s discovered, so I inquired, “Well, where are you?” He replied, “We’re at Hoover Dam”. Hoover Dam (which is the huge reservoir that provides much of Columbus’ water and is located a block from our house) is where he has located many, MANY “restful spots”. I said, “Another one?”; to which he replied “Yup”. He began to explain that it was high above the creek and said, “you’re not gonna believe this”. He then began to talk to his Daddy and said “Send Gramma a picture, Dad…hurry!”. He then came back to the cell phone and said, “Gramma, gotta go. Dad’s sendin’ a picture. I love you. You just gotta SEE this!” And off he went disconnecting the call on his way. Here is the picture that was sent to my computer.

   Hi laane…we love it here. Lots of woods and 2 large reservoirs, 1 within walking distance and the other about 5 miles away which supplies the water for southern Delaware County. Grandson loves to boat and fish on Hoover, he was so excited to see this family of raccoons…he LOVES raccoons. We have several in our woods, but we rarely see more than one at a time. This was so special for him.

   Hi Deb…Oh my…he was SO excited…came running into our house on his way home shouting “Did you see them? Did you see them?” He couldn’t stop talking about them. Actually, he had asked his Dad if he could take just one of them home with him…not an option…LOL

   Hi Barbara my friend…Son said they were young and think they were probably born in the spring…he saw 2 larger ones in the shrubs beside the stream that he figured were probably the parents. Yes, indeed, a wonderful find!
