Gentle Giant Rescues Fur-Ball

My youngest son (youngest of 7 kids) is the meanest, toughest guy in the game of football. However, in the game of life, he is the kindest, most sensitive guy you’d ever want to meet! He helps his dad with the family business and is also a real estate agent.

My son, (the soft-hearted one), was showing a house to a client this week and when they opened an outside shed door, this tiny yellow (as it turned out) striped kitten ran out, filthy dirty, soaking wet, extremely thin and scared to death. He was running so fast, he ran into the tire of the car and knocked himself senseless. My son picked him up and the dear thing didn’t try to get away or anything. Son talked to him and calmed him down and had him purring within just a couple of minutes. Well, son went around to neighbors to see if anyone claimed him; no one did and my son couldn’t just let him run free so, of course, he brought him home.

When grandsons saw him…yup, that was the end of that story…they now have a tiny kitten the oldest grandson named Sam and a huge yellow Lab named Buckeye. After a bath (or two) you could see Sam’s pretty stripes.

Of course Gramma had to show up with camera in hand. Have you ever tried to take a picture of a 7 week old kitten who just arrived at a new house and had no interest in posing whatsoever? Not an easy task!

The grandkids are always up to picture taking and youngest grandson was put out because he couldn’t hold the kitten and Gramma was NOT taking pictures of him!

Incidently, Buckeye, the 140 pound lab is scared to death of the kitten. Kitten hisses, Lab runs and hides. Then kitten struts around like he’s the King of the Mountain! Cutest thing you ever saw.

Oh, now my lab, Abby, is hurt because I came home with a camera full of animals and grandkids and not one picture of her. Here she is just a bit appeased that I finally aimed the camera at her. She makes me feel SO guilty!

Until next time!

  2. Thank goodness for Sam that the mean, tough guy was there to rescue him and give him a wonderful Forever Home! We hope that Buckeye will not be scairt of Sam! hahaha!

  3. Thanks for dropping by Ana and Gandalf…and don’t forget Grayson! Sam is purr-fectly happy in his new home. And Buckeye is NOT “scairt”…he’s petrified! Sam has a new game of pretending tocasually walk by Buckeye, then springing high into the air and landing right in the middle of Buckeye’s back. Holy Cow can that dog run! LOL

  12. OH! Yes he has! I was a little concerned about such a large dog in the house, but little Sam came in and took over…he rules the roost there. It’s almost like he said, “Listen buster, I’ve been through a lot in my few months of life and YOU don’t scare me one bit!”…LOL Thanks for commenting Lynne and I hope you come back often!
